The original club consisted of fifteen (15) members and soon grew to forty (40) within a few short months. The Warning Signs of Impending Disaster |
Perhaps you don't consider yourself an athlete when you're riding your motorcycle on the road. But in intense hot weather, you should.
Think about it. When the summer turns really steamy, the folks in cars all have their windows rolled up and the AC on max, while you swelter inside your armored clothes. So even if you couldn't do a Special Forces pushup if your life depended on it, that puts you in a category with others who need to manage their body temperature in the face of extreme conditions - people like runners, bicyclists and triathletes. |

Make Your Miles Count (Mileage Program)
HOG® is all about riding and having fun. The HOG Mileage Program rewards you for doing what we all love to do most … ride. The more miles you log on your Harley®, the more recognition you receive. Pins, patches, motorcycle medallions – all awarded to you because you ride. A HOG Mileage Program pin and patch will be sent to all HOG members upon enrollment in the program. If you have more than one motorcycle, be sure to enroll each additional bike. After enrollment, additional awards can be earned by achievement of the mileage levels listed in your HOG Membership Manual and online at members.hog.com, starting at just 10,000 miles. Don’t waste another mile! Take part in the Mileage Program and make every mile count! |

Safe riding is always good riding. Riding safely is mostly a matter of knowledge and attitude, and riding safely doesn’t have to be boring. In fact, practicing safe techniques could add years of fun to your life. Simply put, here are 10 habits to practice that will help keep you safe and make riding more enjoyable. | | 1. Be ready: mind, body, and bike. 2. Be smooth. 3. Know where you are. 4. Use your head (to look where you’re going.) 5. When your line of sight or path of travel becomes restricted, reduce your speed and use great care. 6. Before proceeding through any intersection, check left, check front, check right, then check left again. 7. Whenever you slow, first check your rearview mirror. 8. Keep a 2-4 second following distance. 9. Ride with a great attitude. 10. Practice. (Source: Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Program) -Steven Adam (RC / Safety Officer) |
